1 Who We Are
SecurityFile (SecurityFile.in) is a free online job platform dedicated exclusively to ex-servicemen of the Indian Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces, connecting them with verified security employers across India.
2 Information We Collect
- Identity: Full name, service branch, rank, and years of service.
- Contact: Mobile number — used for direct employer contact.
- Account Credentials: Password stored as a secure bcrypt hash — never in plaintext.
- Device Data: Anonymous device fingerprint and cookie used only to prevent duplicate registrations.
- Usage Data: Pages visited and session duration, used only for platform improvement.
We do not collect Aadhaar numbers, bank details, biometric data, or any information beyond what is listed above.
3 How We Use Your Data
- To display your profile to verified employers searching for candidates.
- To allow employers to contact you directly for job opportunities.
- To prevent fraudulent duplicate registrations via device fingerprinting.
- To maintain platform security and integrity.
- To send you important service updates (no spam or marketing).
4 Data Sharing
We never sell your personal data. Your information is shared only in these limited cases:
- Verified Employers: Your name, service background, and mobile number are visible to registered employers to facilitate direct hiring contact.
- Legal Obligation: If required by Indian law or a valid court order.
5 Data Security
- Passwords hashed with bcrypt — never stored in plaintext.
- CSRF tokens on all forms to prevent cross-site request forgery.
- Session cookies set with HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax flags.
- HTTPS-only access enforced on our live server (SSL/TLS).
- Device fingerprinting used solely to prevent duplicate account creation.
6 Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymised usage statistics may be retained for platform analytics.
7 Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update inaccurate data through your profile editor.
- Deletion: Request complete removal of your account and all data within 30 days.
- Withdrawal: You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
